Intuitive Exercises & Games

According to Litany Burns, author of The Sixth Sense of Children: Nurturing Your Child's Intuitive Abilities, all children are intuitive but not all children share the same types or degree of intuitive talents.

In her book, she outlines 8 distinctly different types of talents used by children when picking up subtle information and gives parents helpful tips and practical exercises to work with their child to assess and nurture his or her abilities.

Eight Different Types of Talents

  • Intuitive Reading

Being able to read the "vibes" of a person, animal, plant, tree, rock, or natural place and give thoughts, impressions, words, feelings, descriptive pictures about them. With Intuitive Reading we add words and ideas to our hunches.

  • Psychometry Reading

When looking at a photograph of a person or animal or hold an object that has been worn or owned by that person or animal we can get information about him or her. The person or animal does not have to be present. We can read his or her "vibes" from the picture or object just as you do with an Intuitive Reading and get information about the person's past, present, or future.

  • Aura Reading

All living things have colors. Our hair, eyes, and skin have color. A person's spirit and energy has color, too, called an Aura. Auras can be seen or sensed around all living things. An aura has three parts: Physical, Mental/Emotional, and Spiritual.

  • Intuitive Healing

Intuitive Healing is the oldest form of healing known to humanity. It is a simple process of laying on of hands to transfer loving energy into the body of another person so that the person can use the energy to heal himself. In addition, intuitive insights are given during the Intuitive Healing to help the person restore his or her mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual balance.

  • Clairvoyance

Clairvoyance is the ability to see or sense situations, people, or objects in visions or symbols.  Everyone uses their natural clairvoyant talents when they dream. A clairvoyant is able to see such things while awake and can give impressions about the past and present and make predictions.

  • Psychokinesis

Psychokinesis is the ability to move or change physical matter using spiritual energy. Bending a spoon, moving a physical object, and stopping the hands on a clock or other machinery without using physical force are ways of demonstrating Psychokinesis.

  • Mediumship

Mediumship is the ability to sense and channel nonphysical or soul energy. Very sensitive children can feel other people's emotions, and respond to the nonphysical energies of people and natural things. A medium or channeler of this energy can receive messages from loved ones, gain impressions about physical events and people that relate to the past, present, or future, and sense the presence of angels, imaginary playmates, and spirit guides.

  • Telepathy

Using telepathy is like being a human telephone. It is the ability to know or send a thought, idea, image, or impression from the mind of one person to that of another. With telepathy you focus only on information in the moment, sent from one person's mind to another's.
